Russell Myers on King Charles’s regret at the Coronation
Russell Myers was joined by Jennie Bond on Monday’s Lorraine where talk turned to Prince Harry’s appearance at King Charles’s Coronation.
The Duke of Sussex, who was dressed in a formal suit, attended his father’s formal crowning at Westminster Abbey.
However, he was spotted leaving promptly after the ceremony ended to head to the airport.
Speaking with Christine Lampard, Russell believes both King Charles and Prince Harry will feel regret about the Coronation.
He began: “King Charles is 74 years old and I think he is recognising that he is going to need a bit of a bit of help from the younger members.
“We’ve had a lot of [in the] couple of years of this scandal…fighting and he needs to try and sort that out and try to move forward and he will need William to be by his side to do that.
“But nice reflections back from the late Queen paying tribute to her saying that she would be really proud of her son.”
Christine chipped in: “I thought there was a real relaxed feeling to the family. They looked like they were enjoying themselves.”
Russell replied: “As the ceremony went on, he looked more and more nervous I thought, the weight of the occasion was on him. But yesterday everybody was having a bit of a dance.”

Talk quickly shifted to Prince Harry, who attended the event without his wife, Meghan Markle.
“Harry, of course,” Christine said. “Just an interesting day.”
“I think we thought he would be in and out but that was about 24 hours,” Russell pointed out.
“I mean, he had obviously the excuse of his son’s birthday to fly back to but very, very telling.
“I mean, what could have been if it wasn’t so acrimonious his departure from the Royal Family? Could he have been not relegated to the third row?
“I honestly don’t think he would be. He could have gone to the reception where I imagine we’re gonna see some photos later in the official portrait of the Coronation, and this is a great shame.
“Regardless of how things have been dealt with, I think there are probably regrets on both sides.”
“It’s a pretty sad situation,” the royal expert went on to add.
Lorraine airs weekdays at 9am on ITV.
