Eagle-eyed Line of Duty fans have ‘worked out’ who was killed in Sunday night’s deadly shoot-out.
The episode ended on a huge cliffhanger as Kate Fleming and Ryan Pilkington both had their guns drawn in a quasi-Mexican standoff.
And as Kate yelled at Ryan to drop his weapon, two gunshots could be heard going off as the episode cut to black.
But now keen-eyed viewers are certain they’ve identified the body left on the floor in the next episode’s trailer.
"Looks like a Ryan Pilkington lying dead in the lorry park from the trailer. Did Jo have a gun and stop him? Did Kate shoot first? Is Kate alive? Did AC-12 arrive in time? So many questions from that unbelievable cliffhanger," one wrote on Twitter.
Another viewer was also certain the body belonged to Ryan, writing alongside a freeze-frame of the trailer: "Ryan is actually shot dead (look at the body laying on the floor between the black van and the police car)."
Someone else agreed: "Think we know from the trailer that Ryan gets it (see wee dead body in picture) in the shoot out cliffhanger. I reckon Kate takes Jo on the run, ending the stand-off with Steve, Ted and the AFOs we also see in the trailer."
"There is a body on the floor. Ryan?" another penned.
Ryan Pilkington is a Police Constable, but was later confirmed to have a criminal past – and worked as a courier for the OCG.
Baddie Ryan also confessed to the murders of John Corbett and Maneet Bindra, along with attempting to kill Terry Boyle.
Some viewers theorised that Jo Davidson shot Ryan, predicting that she is "deep undercover" – one viewer proposed: "I still think Jo could be deep undercover and will shoot Ryan and have to break cover, she is in deeper than she would like.
"When AC-12 all left Hastings said my girl is in the field, could be Kate but could be Jo."
But others were quick to debunk that theory, as Jo has ‘no firearms training’.
Someone pointed out: "Can somebody explain why there are so many posts saying that Jo shot Ryan when a) Jo has no firearms training, b) is unlikely to have had a gun. I do not see Ryan giving her a gun – too risky. And c) it was Kate that had a drawn gun."
A theorist on Reddit also wondered if it was H’s intention for Ryan to be killed, and had asked Jo to get rid of her but known she would chicken out of doing it.
They continued that Jo would ask Ryan to fire the fatal shot in her place – but H actually intended for it to go wrong, as Ryan "knows too much."
They explained: "H knows Kate is firearms trained and colluding with AC-12, so possibly armed/being protected. So I believe that H intended for Ryan to be killed by Kate, Jo or AC-12 in a shootout because he is a liability [and] knows far too much.

"Without Ryan, AC-12 are missing a vital link," the theorist continued.
However, other fans weren’t completely convinced the body on the floor was definitely Ryan, with one writing: "So the trailer shows a body lying next to a car next to a blue lorry. Ryan appears to be standing in front of said car and blue lorry. And Kate is stood the wrong side of the car for it to be her. I’m sure Kate is still alive!"
Eager fans will have to wait until the next episode airs on Sunday night to find out the real truth.
