Love Island fans were once again treated to some unexpected scenes as the highly anticipated baby challenge kicked off on Wednesday 27 July's episode of the ITV dating show.
Hot on the heels of another dumping, the annual challenge made its return for 2022, as it once again tasked the remaining couples to try their hand at parenting by taking care of a realistic baby doll for the day.
During the 24 hour period, the couples would be expected to feed, change and socialise with their little ones, while also juggling the demands of regular life.
While things kicked off as a team effort, with the couples jointly taking care of their babies, it was soon down to the dads to step up as a Daddy Daycare kicked in, so that the girls could head out to enjoy a much needed day out.
During their time away, the Islanders got to know their children, with Davide Sanclimenti being one of the unexpected standouts for doting on his daughter’s every need.
Taking the baby doll everywhere with him in a stroller, including to the gym, the Italian sweetheart could be seen doing his best to be a good father, even going so far as to talk to it.
However it was his decision to give his daughter a makeover while the doll was screaming that left many fans in stitches, as he transformed the traditional baby doll into the villa’s youngest bombshell, complete with fake eyelashes, bronzed cheeks and a heavy slick of lipstick.
Fans at home couldn’t quite believe what they were seeing, with several taking to Twitter to voice their thoughts.
“Davide's daughters screaming and he's just giving her a makeover,” observed one fan.
While another commented: “Davide, why did he give his newborn a makeover? I’m crying!”
A third also couldn’t believe it, as they added: “Davide is so funny why is he giving the baby a makeover bye?”
A fourth also weighed in, as they admitted they hadn’t expected the makeover to come from him. They wrote: “Out of all the boys I did not expect the baby makeover to have been done by Davide.”
Several fans also couldn’t hide their amusement at Davide’s references to villa life, including the moment he told his baby that the terrace was bad news.
“Davide telling his baby the terrace is bad and then giving her a makeover!” commented one fan alongside a crying emoji.
“This is my absolute favourite,” gushed another fan. “Please don’t ever change Davide!”
