Viewer opinions were mixed as Faye Winter and Teddy Soares became an official couple on Thursday’s episode of Love Island.

As Teddy and Faye went on a lavish date that saw them waist deep in a pool filled with rose petals shaped into the form of two hearts, Teddy felt it was the right moment to reveal that he wanted to make things between them official.

After the pair had a discussion of their journey so far and their goals for the future, Teddy said that there was something “on the tip of his tongue” before asking Faye to be his girlfriend.

Faye was overjoyed, finding it hard to get her words out as she giggled awkwardly before kissing Teddy in excitement.

When the pair returned to the villa following the date they immediately took the boys and girls aside to tell them they were official.

Some fans of the show were excited for the couple, with one tweeting: “Teddy and Faye to win ‘loveisland”.

Another said: “Oh my goodness Faye and Teddy that was the cutest thing ever #loveisland #faye #teddy”.

A third penned: ”Why am I crying at how cute Faye and Teddy are #loveisland”.

But while some fans were overjoyed at the romantic pairing, others were upset at the scene.

One Tweeted: “Teddy you have officially sold your soul. I hope it’s worth it #loveisland”.

Another speculated on their future, saying: “Teddy is in for a big f*****g shock when he gets out of that villa… The real Faye will reveal herself in less than 3 months… #loveisland”.

A third referenced Faye’s outburst at Teddy after seeing a clip of him at Casa Amor, leading to a record breaking amount of Ofcom complaints for the show, writing: “Teddy finally admitting he loves the abuse. #Loveisland”.

While Faye and Teddy’s relationship was moving forward, Faye found herself having to support Liberty Poole as she cried about her relationship with Jake Cornish, thinking they weren’t good for each other anymore.

As Liberty cried to Faye, she said that she wished their relationship together was like Faye and Teddy’s, with some fans immediately calling that a problem.

One wrote: “imagine ur relationship being that bad you wish it was like Faye and Teddy’s instead lmao #Loveisland”.

Another commented: “Liberty trust me. You do NOT want what Faye and teddy have. We as the public despise them! #Loveisland”.
