Masked Singer shock as bookies 'reveal' who the Traffic Cone is – and it's NOT Bradley Walsh

OVER the past few weeks The Masked Singer fans have been scratching their heads over who the celebrity is behind the Traffic Cone costume.

Viewers of the ITV show have guessed the likes of TV presenter Michael Barrymore, Pointless star Alexander Armstrong and comedian Jason Manford in recent weeks.

Last week many were left convinced that it has to be The Chase host Bradley Walsh after a string of cracking clues.

But now global online gambling company Betway have "revealed" that it is in fact is television and radio presenter Aled Jones.

The Welsh singer is favourite to be Traffic Cone because his odds are so low on the website, coming in at 1.25.

This is closely followed by the likes of actor Rob Brydon, Alexander Armstrong and tenor Alfie Boe.

Traffic Cone is most likely NOT going to be singer Tony Hadley, Top Gear presenter Jeremy Clarkson or Lewis Hamilton because theirs odds are very high, coming in at 101.00.

Aled shot to fame as a child in the 80s with his version of the Christmas classic Walking In The Air from the iconic film The Snowman.

By the time his voice broke at 16, he had already sold an astonishing six million albums and sung for the Pope, The Queen and the Prince and Princess of Wales.

Over the years he's become a popular TV presenter after hosting BBC's Songs Of Praise, Day Break and Too Much TV and Weekend.

He's also hosted radio shows on Classic FM, Radio 2 and Radio 3.

Many fans on Twitter think that Aled is Traffic Cone.

One wrote: "Traffic Cone: I think it’s someone who’s funny and I haven’t ruled a comedian out. They were surrounded by sheep whilst singing so I’m going Welsh – could it be Aled Jones?!"

Another said: "I'm standing by my guess from last week: #TrafficCone is Aled Jones! The laugh in the beginning of the VT sounds just like him! #MaskedSingerUK #MaskedSinger."

A third chimed in: "Traffic Cone does sound like Aled Jones #maskedsinger."

Another pointed out: "Traffic cone is Aled Jones cus it’s 40 years this year he sang walking in the air and he said ‘40’ at the beginning of his VT."

On Saturday night Poodle was revealed to be Tom Chaplin – the lead singer of Keane.

The star managed to make it through the whole show with not a single one of the judges guessing it was him.

Speaking about appearing on The Masked Singer he said: "I’ve got to a point in my life where I don’t take myself too seriously anymore.

"I think that’s pretty important if you’re going to dress up as a seven foot multicoloured poodle.

"I’ve also become much more interested in embracing different challenges – being in a band is like living on a little island, so it’s good to try things that are out of your comfort zone!"
