Christmas is all about faaaaaamily, and Mick Carter (Danny Dyer) is hellbent on ensuring his clan are together for the festive season in upcoming EastEnders scenes, as he makes a big announcement.

The festivities are well underway at the Queen Vic, and a flirtatious Janine Butcher (Charlie Brooks) is doing everything she can to get Mick’s attention, much to Shirley (Linda Henry) and Nancy’s (Maddy Hill) dismay.

But it’s not all sweetness and light, as Mick receives a phone call from Linda (Kellie Bright), and Janine eavesdrops, as she comes to realise that the landlord is not spending Christmas with his wife.

Afterwards, Janine opens up to Mick about not seeing Scarlett, and Mick encourages her to do something about it.

Janine is clearly head over heels for her employer, and subsequent scenes will see her try to get him alone. Desperate to get Nancy out of the way, she schemes some more, convincing Zack Hudson (James Farrar) that Nancy still has feelings for him.

Her plan backfires, however, as Nancy is livid to discover that Janine has been meddling in her love life.

But Janine’s attention is soon elsewhere when she realises that Mick is struggling, and soon enough, she puts two and two together, figuring out the reason why.

Mick, meanwhile, makes a huge announcement, vowing to bring his family back together for the holidays.

The question is: will he succeed?

That remains to be seen, but he becomes desperate to talk to Linda, while Stuart Highway (Ricky Champ) encourages him to create the perfect party for his family.

Will the plan pay off? Or will meddling Janine have other ideas?
