The return of Netflix’s Spanish crime drama put fans through a rollercoaster of emotions as they watched the group attempt to escape the Royal Mint. Despite this, one eagle-eyed fan spotted a major clue which could see Alicia Sierra (played by Najwa Nimri) use The Professor (Alvaro Morte), in the second part of Money Heist.
During an episode of Money Heist, a viewer noticed Alicia hide some pliers in her sleeve while she was in the bathroom.
In hopes of making sense of the scene, the eagle-eyed fan took to Reddit to ask other Netflix streamers if they knew what it could mean.
In response, one wrote: “Remember when Professor talked on phone with Tamayo, he said that he could leak the audio recording and prove that Alicia was framed by them?
“She’s definitely gonna threaten Professor to leak that audio, she wants to remain in Madrid with her child, and only way to that is to clear her name,” they concluded.
After the gang infiltrated the Royal Mint of Spain and were holding people hostage, Alicia was called in as a police detective to investigate.
All her attempts failed as the group remained in the building and were stealing millions of Euros.
She became a disgraced officer after her techniques to horrifically torture Rio (Miguel Herran) for answers were revealed and made public.
Alicia was ordered by Colonel Tamayo (Fernando Cayo) to attend a press conference and claim the authorities didn’t know about the torture and it was her own wrongdoing – instead she did the opposite.
This caused her to get fired, but instead of accepting defeat, she set out as a lone ranger to find The Professor – the mastermind behind the heist.
In the season four finale, she did just that and was able to find him, however, in the pilot episode of the new instalment, the heavily pregnant ex-officer’s water broke.
Although she wanted to claim her victory and restore her name, she had no choice but to trust him to deliver her baby.
The Professor used the opportunity to claim his innocence and Alicia realised how corrupt Tamayo was when he held a press conference.

He shared false information about her and claimed she used underground servers to provide The Professor with vital information about the investigation.
This would result in her immediate arrest if she was to go out into public, which meant her child would grow up without a mother.
Thankfully The Professor was able to get a recording of Tamayo admitting to framing Alicia and threatening to use it against him if he sent in the Military to fight the gang.
With the knowledge of his confession in existence, Alicia knew that would automatically clear her in the eyes of the law and send Tamayo to prison.
Although The Professor helped her deliver the baby, it’s still unknown where Alicia’s loyalty lies.
The second part of season five could see her turn against the mastermind and use the pliers against him to gain possession of the recording.
It’s yet to be seen if Alicia is completely against the Spanish police force, as her innocence could mean she would regain her badge and potentially share what she learned during her time in hiding with The Professor.
Fans will have to stay tuned if the theory will come true or if she needed those pliers for something else.
Money Heist season five part one is available to watch now, exclusively on Netflix. Season five part two will premiere on December 3.
