Sam Faiers reveals terrifying health scare after feeling pain in her right breast which left her 'shivering'

TOWIE'S Sam Faiers has opened up on the terrifying pain in her right breast which sent her body into "shutdown."

The mum of three, 31, who gave birth to her youngest baby boy in May, told how she was left "shivering and cold" by the condition – which at first she did not understand.

After seeking medical advice Sam told fans she was suffering a blocked milk duct, which is an inflammation of the breast otherwise known as mastitis.

She reassured fans she was feeling "a million times better" but had been taking the necessary steps to get fully well.

Posting a tender image showing her son cuddled to her chest, she wrote on Instagram: "OK so last night I started to feel a really tender pain in my right breast.

"Then my whole body went into shutdown.

Mastitis is a relatively common condition but new mums are advised to deal with the early signs to stop it turning into an infection.

If so, the parent would need to take a course of antibiotics.

Sam announced the arrival of the youngster with a sweet video.

She shared a video of partner Paul Knightley, daughter Rosie, four, and son Paul, six, with the new arrival.

The video began with fireworks going off before showing the world the latest member of the Knightley clan.

She captioned the video: "My whole world ?
No words can describe how in love we are with you baby boy. I honestly can’t explain my feelings right now ? Mummy loves you more than you could ever imagine. Currently in our baby bubble, be back soon ?"

The video also showed a snipped of Sam in a birthing pool at home, indicating she had a water birth.
