Desperate Paddy Kirk (Dominic Brunt) will agree to Kim Tate’s (Claire King) new partnership idea in Emmerdale, but it involves dangerously doping horses.
With nowhere else to turn, Paddy finds himself outside Home Farm, asking for Kim’s help to get rid of Al (Michael Wildman) after he makes an offer on the Woolpack.
When a horse breeder tries to low-ball Kim over the value of her new stallion, she realises she can make use of Paddy’s desperation ahead of a crucial race.
Kim sits down with Paddy and offers him a Faustian pact; dope her race horse for the money to keep Al out of the pub.
Kim is feeling satisfied when a wretched Paddy turns up at Home Farm to sell his soul by agreeing to dope her horse.
Later, in a layby near the racecourse, nervous Paddy is backed further into a corner when Kim warns him that his problems could worsen if her doped horse doesn’t win the race.
As Kim returns, she announces her horse has won the race.
Handing over the cash, will Paddy be able to resist Kim’s offer to make this a regular assignment?
