THE Kardashians are by far the most famous family in the world.
However, on Friday, February 19, it was reported that Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from husband Kanye West after nearly seven years of marriage.
Kim and Kanye are parents to North, 7, Saint, 5, Chicago, 3, and Psalm, 1
Who are Kim Kardashian's children and what do their names mean?
North West
North is Kim and Kanye's eldest child. She was born on June 15 2013 – making her seven.
She is often pictured out with her mother and is already something of a style icon.
North gave her first interview (with her mum) when she was just four.
Kim and North appeared on the cover of Interview magazine and the children of other famous faces got to ask North questions.
Kris Jenner said of her unusual name: "The way Kim explained it to me was that North means highest power and she says North is their highest point together."
Saint West
Saint was born on December 5, 2015, making him five years old.
Kim has been open about how difficult her pregnancies have been.
With her first pregnancy, she suffered preeclampsia, which forced her to deliver at 34 weeks. She also suffered placenta accreta after delivery.
The reason they picked the name Saint is a "blessing" after Kim's tricky pregnancy.
Chicago West
Chicago was born on Jan 15, 2018, making her three.
After doctors told Kim, 37, it would be unwise to go through with a third pregnancy she and Kanye decided to go for a surrogate.
Kim's egg and Kanye's sperm were used and baby Chicago arrived in early 2018 weighing 7lbs 6oz.
It is thought they picked the name Chicago in a tribute to Kanye's late mother, as it was her hometown.
Psalm West
Psalm is the youngest child of Kim and Kanye.
He was born on May 10, 2019, making him one.
In February 2020, Kim Kardashian revealed that she believed Psalm was the reincarnation of her father, Rob Kardashian Sr.
The Keeping Up with the Kardashians star – whose father passed away in 2003 – admitted she was introduced to the idea while on a trip to Indonesia.
"We were in Bali, and a woman – a blind medium – came up to me and said that I was going to have another son and that it was going to be my father reincarnated,” she told E! News.
Did Kim and Kanye use surrogacy?
Kim and Kanye used surrogacy to help them with Chicago and Psalm.
Kim revealed she suffered from toxemia, which means she is unable to carry any more children.
In an episode of Keeping Up With The Kardashians, the reality star was warned she could "bleed to death" if she falls pregnant for a third time.
A source told People: "Given her health scares in the past, Kim felt the need to hire a surrogacy agency that helped serve as the liaison in finding a healthy woman who would be a great surrogate option for her and Kanye.
"Both of them have been super involved in the process."
Reports stated Kim Kardashian filed for divorce from rapper Kanye West after nearly seven years of marriage on February 19.
Kim is reportedly asking for joint legal and physical custody of the couple's four kids.
The couple tied the knot in May 2014.
