Girl gang knife fight leaves teen, 15, with stab wounds as violence erupts at ‘Weed Day’ gathering in London’s Hyde Park

A girl gang knife fight has left a 15-year-old girl with stab wounds after violence erupted at the 4/20 ‘Weed Day’ gathering in London’s Hyde Park.
Officers who were on patrol in the park overseeing the illegal gathering were alerted to a fight which had broken out around 6.10pm.
After breaking up the scuffle and dispersing those involved they discovered a 15-year-old girl had been stabbed in the leg.
Pictures taken when the first broke out appear to show one of the people involved holding a knife.

The group scuffled with each other while a large group of people watched and before police arrived to break up the fight

Police performed first aid on the teenager and the London Ambulance Service was called to assist.
The youngster was taken to hospital where her condition is not believed to be life threatening or life changing.
Pictures from the scene showed a large group watching as the scuffle broke out and another appears to show one of those involved in the fight holding a knife.
The group looked to be throwing punches while others were seen appearing to kick someone while they were laid on the ground.
Several people watched on as the fight continued, with many pulling out their phones appearing to record the incident.

In a statement the Metropolitan Police said: ‘A number of people are likely to have seen what happened. They are asked to call 101 or tweet @MetCC providing the reference CAD6227/20APR.’
An increased number of officers were already in Hyde Park after people gathered illegally in breach of Covid regulations.
Marijuana lovers unite for the rally every year on April 20, the date corresponding to the code name 420, usually to demand the drug is decriminalised.
It is not clear if those involved in the fight were attending today’s 420 gathering.
While police usually turn a blind eye to the gathering – as long as people remain calm and good-natured – officers warned fines of £200 may be issued to those flouting lockdown rules.

As it stands, outdoor gatherings are only permitted for groups of up to six people.
Images showed police officers in the central London park talking to people as they sat on the grass. It was unclear how large the groups were – or whether lockdown rules were being followed.
It is currently illegal to possess, grow, distribute or sell cannabis in the UK. Those caught carrying the drug can be handed a maximum of five years in prison, an unlimited fine, or both.
Anyone convicted of producing and supplying the Class B drug could be jailed for up to 14 years.
