Outraged Home Bargains customers have spotted Christmas decorations on sale with four months to go – while TK Maxx is already selling Halloween outfits.

Many shops throughout the UK notoriously begin selling products for Christmas and Easter months in advance – often to the shock of their customers.

And this year discount store Home Bargains was one of the first off the mark, decking their shelves with tonnes of red, gold and green items – perfect for the festive seasons.

Meanwhile TK Maxx has already started selling goodies for the holiday on October 31, despite it still being August.

Some customers at Home Bargains called the chain’s festive decision ‘depressing’, with one scrooge writing: ‘Who allowed the lunatics to run the asylum?’

TK Maxx has already launched items for its Halloween range – with 10 weeks still to go until the spooky holiday

Many of those who came across the yuletide offerings felt frustrated that the shop hadn’t even waited for thermostats to fall before pressing ahead.

Shopper Sarah Whitaker, 35, of Leeds, said: ‘It’s not even autumn yet. The summer holidays aren’t even finished and they’re selling Christmas stuff, it’s depressing.

‘We haven’t had much of a summer, but there’s no need to rub it in our faces that winter will be here soon.

‘It’s just a bit weird having Christmas decorations up in the seasonal aisle when there are other events in the calendar we haven’t had yet, like Halloween.

‘At least let us have the summer Bank Holiday first.’

Another frustrated shopper wrote on social media: ‘Home Bargains have got Christmas goodies on their shelves. What the bleep is wrong with people?

Meanwhile, pictures from the TK Maxx store in Windsor, Berkshire showed Halloween mugs, cuddly pumpkins and pillows with skulls on and much more.

The shelves were already saturated with witchy items, cauldrons and spider decorations.

The discount chain already has 700 Halloween-themed products on their website.

Despite weeks of warm weather in the UK, the store is already looking forward to the colder autumnal weather.

Shoppers have already excitedly flooded into stores to grab a bargain.

One said on Twitter: ‘Every trip to tk maxx right now is also a test of willpower to not walk out with a whole trolley of Halloween decor.’

Another added: ‘TK Maxx have put the Halloween stuff out. In August. And it’s a measure of how badly the world is messed up that I find myself thinking ‘good of them to wait until July was over.”

A third joked: ‘Why does tk maxx have to have good Halloween decor & I’m utterly Hocus Brocous.’

One more said: ‘The halloween section at tk maxx is insane btw.’

MailOnline has contacted TK Maxx for comment.
