Panic on EgyptAir flight as ‘agitated’ passenger tries to storm cabin and attacks crew

PANIC has been reported on an EgyptAir flight after an "agitated" passenger is said to have assaulted crew and stormed the cabin of a plane.

The plane appears to have been flying from Oman's capital Muscat to Cairo, Egypt, when the incident took place.

Just 26 minutes into the four-hour flight the distressed passenger is said to have attacked crew before he was safely apprehended.

It is believed the plane is being landed in the Jordanian capital Amman airport, where authorities are investigating.

In 2016 EgyptAir flight MS804 from Paris to Cairo crashed into the Mediterranean.

Sixty-six passengers were killed in the crash, which French authorities believed may have been caused by the pilot charging his iPad in the cockpit.
