Spanish police have arrested a 15-year-old boy suspected of shooting dead his parents and brother after he was banned from using the internet because of bad school marks.

Police sources on the Costa Blanca said they believed the murders could have been sparked by the boy’s parents stopping him from accessing the internet as a punishment for poor school grades and not helping with chores.

Local reports claimed he had confessed to a neighbour when he was asked about his family.

Police sources have been quoted as saying that the boy admitted shooting his father in the chest ‘because he wouldn’t shut up’ after finding his wife and younger son dead.

The country’s National Police has yet to comment officially.
