Police in desperate search for parents of young girl found alone in Merseyside park

POLICE are desperately searching for the parents of a young girl found alone in a park.

The youngster, believed to be aged around ten, was discovered by a member of the public in Gaskell Park in St Helens this morning.

She was taken to hospital to be checked over and "appears to be in good health".

Police are now trying to track down the girl's parents and are going door-to-door in the area.

The girl has been described as white, around ten years old, with brown hair, wearing a blue top and black shorts.

She was carrying a Nintendo Switch with the account of ‘Fragger’.

Sergeant Paul Allen said: “Although the girl appears to be in good health, we’re obviously desperate to find her family, so if you recognise her from the description or have any information, call 999 immediately with reference 323 and we will do the rest.”
