Shocking moment woman, 77, run over TWICE after driver 'mistakes her for deep snow' – but survives UNSCATHED

THIS is the shocking moment a woman is run over twice after a driver reportedly mistook her for a snowdrift.

The 77-year-old pedestrian miraculously survived without a scratch after the motorist ran her over while reversing from a parking spot.

The bizarre incident took place in the city of Zelenodolsk in the Russian Republic of Tatarstan at approximately 1.20 pm on Wednesday.

Footage from the scene shows the woman standing behind a parked car while letting another one pass.

Suddenly the parked car can be seen reversing and knocking her over.

The rear right wheel appears to run her over, apparently lifting the car's rear left wheel clean off the ground.

The car stays like that for a few seconds before going forwards slightly and rolling off her.

But then, just as the woman appears to be attempting to get up, it reverses over her again, pushing her back in the snow.

Eventually, the car moves forwards again and comes to a stop.

Finally, the driver's door opens and a man gets out, realising his mistake.

The footage ends as the driver goes over to the woman, presumably to check on her and assist her.

The driver, who is reportedly 64 years old, was reversing the Ford Kuga out of the parking spot and allegedly did not see the pedestrian behind the car.

The pensioner was taken to hospital, where doctors were surprised to note that she had suffered virtually no injuries.

They believe the presence of significant amounts of snow on the road might have helped to avoid what would undoubtedly have been certain death.

The authorities have opened an investigation into the incident and said that the motorist had been driving for 22 years but had incurred penalties on five occasions in the last two years for various traffic violations.
