Two Australian snake catchers made a shocking discovery when they arrived at their most recent call-out this week.

Wild Encounters, based on the Gold Coast, discovered an extremely rare 'snake orgy' on the balcony of a startled customer.

Three horny male Common Tree Snakes were found caught in a lovers tiff, squirming for the affection of one female snake.

They posted a video of the terrifying sight on Facebook, along with the caption: "Not something we see everyday. We can nearly count on one hand how many times we have seen this in over 10 years! It’s cool every time!"

In the video, the Wild Encounters team can be seen carefully unravelling the randy reptiles from the customer's balcony.

Talking exclusively to 7 News, homeowner Sophie Kallend said: "I've never seen that many so I got a big shock.

"They were just having a lovely time!"

Sam Howard from Wild Encounters explained: "Snakes are usually quite solitary, they don't usually hang out together.

"They kind of only come together for breading.

"In my nearly 10 years of snake catching I've caught seven in one go before, and then this is my next highest number."

Sam was later able to relocated the non-venomous snakes.

People were quick to express their horror at the scaly surprise.

One person commented on Facebook: "And this is why I have an irrational fear of snakes."

"It's a good thing you don't have a balcony," someone else chimed whilst tagging their friend.

A third added: "What nightmares are made of."

Another person simply left an image of someone wielding a flamethrower.

However, not everyone seemed to be repulsed by the snake orgy.

"That would have been awesome to see and to handle them. They are so beautiful. I love snakes and own two pythons myself. One six-and-a-half foot long and one about two-foot-long," said one snake lover.
