Another version of the report was already published in January, but it did not mention any names of those included in Partygate.

It simply criticised the "failure of leadership" and how they allowed such events to take place during a time in which the country was struggling in lockdown.

"It's the right thing to do."

The prime minister has come under pressure to resign over revelations that parties and gatherings took place in Downing Street in 2020 and 2021 when strict limits on socialising were in force due to COVID.

What is the Sue Gray report expected to include?

The report will give better detail of the events that went down in Downing Street and include some which were not investigated by the Met Police.

The Met Police closed its investigation on May 19, 2022, and many questions were still being raised.

Gray aims at answering these questions and mention some of those responsible for such events that broke Covid regulations.

No individual was named in the report by the Met Police and so Gray aims at making it clearer on why certain people were fined and others not.

There were 28 individuals that received multiple fines for that night, including one who received five.

Boris Johnson was not fined and when speaking about the Christmas Gathering which took place on December 18, 2020, he said: "I have been repeatedly assured since these allegations emerged that there was no party and that no Covid rules were broken."

On the other hand, he did also say that he will apologise for the Partygate scandal after it was revealed that he, his wife Carrie and Rishi Sunak were fined for attending a birthday party for the Prime Minister in June 2020.

How can I see the Sue Gray report?

Since there is no confirmed date for when the new Gray report will be published, it is confirmed on whether the public will be able to see it.

On BBC One's Sunday Morning programme Education secretary Nadhim Zahawi was asked on whether the evidence will be released, to which he responded: "I would absolutely welcome it.

The January report is available to view on the Government website.

However the PM's spokesman added he "can't confirm at this point" if what has been removed from the Gray report because of the Met's investigation will ever be published.
