The amount of money paid out has shocked the country, especially as there is a significant pay gap between men and women.
Emma Jane Bradshaw, a former BBC employee, totalled up the wages of all the employees earning over £150,000 at the BBC and realised something shocking.

She tweeted: “I’ve just added up **ALL** BBC talent’s salaries. 28.7 million/year. Ant & Dec: 30.0 million/year.”
Ant and Dec earned an eye-watering £79,000 a day between them last year.
Recent accounts documents filed by the Britain’s Got Talent presenters show they raked in £29.5million in 12 months last year.

The Geordie TV stars – real names Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly – have made their staggering fortune through ITV presenting roles including hosting Britain’s Got Talent,Saturday Night Takeaway and I’m A Celebrity.
Their earnings are made public through Companies House paperwork for their firms Deecourt Ltd, Teecourt Ltd and Hurley Promotions.
A source told The Sun: “Ant and Dec are two of the hardest-working and well-liked people in the industry but these figures are unbelievable.

In 2016, the presenting duo signed a deal with ITV worth £30million until 2019, which will take their loyalty to the channel to 21 years.
