SUSAN Sarandon has become one of the most established names in Hollywood.

Susan Sarandon – born Susan Abigail Tomalin – is a Hollywood actress whose career has spanned fifty years.

Born on October 4, 1946, she is 71 years old.

Raised Roman Catholic, Susan is the eldest of nine children – with four brothers and four sisters.

Alongside her work in film, Susan is an outspoken political activist, notably supporting Jill Stein in the 2016 US election.

She is also a Goodwill Ambassador for UNICEF, and animal rights activist and a leading voice in the fight to end the death penalty in the US.

As part of this, she was a notable fierce defender of Richard Glossip, a man who is currently incarcerated for a murder conviction.

Susan has had several iconic roles throughout her career.

This includes the role of Janet in cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show, Louise in Thelma and Louise, and Sister Helen Prejean in Dead Man Walking.
