Following a dramatic split from Fifth Harmony last year, Camila Cabello has finally released the details of her debut solo album – and it sounds like it’s going to get emotional.
After a trio of cryptic images on Instagram, Camila announced that the first single from her debut will be released later this week on May 19, and she went pretty in depth about its message.
“The Hurting The Healing The Loving is the story of my journey from darkness into light,” she wrote. “[F]rom a t[F] when I[F]s lost to a time when I found myself again.”
Revealing the origins of one of its tracks, ‘I Have Questions’, Camila told fans that she started writing the music when she was on tour with Fifth Harmony, “completely broken”.
“[I] was in the kind of[I]in that’s uncomfort[I]e to talk about, and it was the kind of chapter you never want to read out loud,” she explained. “[I] was making music about e[I]ything BUT what I was goi[I]through, it was like a secret burning on my tongue and for some reason i could not get myself to say it.”

Camila also revealed the emotional relationship she has with her songwriting, adding: “[I] realized I wasn’t making mus[I]just to make an album anymore, [I]as making this music to heal…
“[I] didn’t write it with the intention[I] delivering a message, but i realized[I]e message was in the hurting, the healing, and the loving.”
Since her dramatic exit from Fifth Harmony, Camila has been making waves a solo artist, recently teaming up with Pitbull and Machine Gun Kelly, and even blowing fans away with her Michael Jackson cover.
And now that we know the inspiration behind The Hurting, The Healing, The Loving, we reckon her exit from the band was Worth It.
