We’ve been chained to the rhythm and served bon appetit, and now it seems we’ll be witness to a third new cut from Katy Perry’s much-anticipated next album.
The singer has teased her next single ‘Witness’, and although it’s a mere 17-second clip, it certainly sounds more melodic than ‘Bon Appetit’.
Accompanied by a GIF of an eye, the date “5/15” flashes across the screen a few times, suggesting it will be dropped today.
“Can I get a witness? / Will you be my witness? / I’m just looking for a witness in all of this / Looking for a witness to get me through this,” she sings.
Katy has also gone all-out on the marketing campaign, advertising the song in New York’s Times Square with the date May 15. At least there are no cherry pies this time around.
The star premiered her video for ‘Bon Appetit’ last week, where she becomes a human meal and generally creeps us all out.
We’ll be seeing her on Saturday Night Live this weekend (May 20), where we imagine she will premiere ‘Witness’ live.
After that, Katy has a pretty busy summer ahead with appearances at Radio 1’s Big Weekend and Glastonbury to boot.
Still, a new album would be pretty sweet too, eh K-Pez? It would certainly make our summer.
