Rex Ryan should stick to defense.
The former Jets coach is facing an investigation by the Metro Nashville, Tenn., Police Department after allegedly going on the offensive in an altercation that was caught on video at a bar on Sunday.
The Nashville police launched its investigation following a formal assault complaint filed against Ryan by 30-year-old Colorado resident Matthew J. Havel.
Nashville police spokesman Don Aaron said, according to reports, “after being [at a table with the Ryan brothers] for more than an hour, Rex Ryan reached across and grabbed at his neck. Havel alleges it was unprovoked.”
No arrests have been made, as the investigation remains ongoing.
No complaint has been filed against Rex’s brother Rob, who also appeared to be involved in the altercation. Nashville police spokeswoman Myra Hudson told USA Today Sports that Rob only has been listed as a witness.
