The Toffees are of course without Romelu Lukaku after his successful switch to Manchester United.

And Koeman believes another striker to bolster the Goodison ranks is just what he needs – despite already spending more than £100million, say the Mirror.

Vardy turned down a move to Arsenal last summer but London rivals Chelsea believe he may be open to a switch this time round.

And it could make sense.

Vardy signed a new deal last year worth roughly £100,000 a week after an unforgettable season in which he led Leicester to the Premier League title.

But that 5,000-1 miracle looks like being just that – a miracle with little chance of being repeated.

Vardy would have Champions League football with Chelsea this season and Everton look in a good spot to challenge for it next year, too.

Yet it remains to be seen how serious Everton would be on Vardy.

Koeman has previously revealed an interest in signing Chelsea’s AWOL striker Diego Costa.
