Warning: Spoilers for The 100‘s season 4 finale lie ahead!
Following on from The 100‘s kind of confusing, kind of surprising season finale, a new series regular has been picked up for season 5.
Yes, get ready to see a lot more of Tasya Teles’ Echo when the next instalment of The 100 returns to our screens, as she’s now officially been promoted, according to Deadline.
Teles has appeared in the apocalyptic sci-fi drama since season 2, and was seen in last week’s season finale escaping Praimfaya on a rocket heading to outer space. As you do.
We’ll have to wait and see how Echo’s story will translate when the new series returns, which happens to be six years in the future following a huge time jump.
Teasing a “reboot” of sorts for the series, the show’s boss Jason Rothenberg has explained what fans can expect when an unknown spaceship begins to descend on Earth.

“We’ll tell the story of how [Clarke and Maddie] came together in season 5, and how they’ve been surviving as the only two people on the planet – until that ship shows up,” he recently revealed.
“We will definitely tell [the newcomers’] story,” he said. “Some of them will probably be angry. All of them will be home, alive, and back on Earth.”
The CW renewed The 100 for a fifth season back in March.
