Coronation Street has revealed a first look at the devastating aftermath of Aidan Connor’s tragic suicide ahead of tonight’s hour-long episode.
On Monday night, viewers saw break down in tears in a heartbreaking final scene before taking his own life.
Shayne Ward’s character was seen staring into the distance while surrounded by his loved ones in the pub before a final shot of Aidan crying in his flat.
With the Connor’s completely unaware of Aidan’s inner turmoil they assume he has overslept when he fails to turn up to work.
Johnny slams his "feckless son" after spotting the confused factory girls waiting outside Underworld.
He’s clearly feeling a bit worse for wear after his boozy leaving do at The Rovers – the last time that Johnny saw his son alive.
Hungover Johnny bumps into Carla before noticing that none of the knicker stitchers have gone into work.
He shouts: "Hey is there a war on? What are you doing stood outside like you’re on the ration?"
"Aidan’s not turned up or Alya," reveals Sinead, while Sally admits they’ve been stood there for ages.
Gina adds: "Yeah if you speak to your son tell him to take his time."
Concerned Johnny decides to ring Aidan, but has no idea of the horrifying discovery that awaits him.
Talking to Carla, he says: "The lazy article has slept in hasn’t he. Can you try Alya and I’ll give my feckless son an earful."
In tonight’s episode, Johnny will find his son’s body at his flat in heartbreaking scenes.
The news of Aidan’s death is set to send shockwaves round the cobbles as his family and neighbours realise what has happened.
