Coronation Street’s Anthony Cotton has promised to sacrifice his own position on Dancing On Ice should he ever end up in the skate off with co-star, Brooke Vincent.
Speaking about his decision, the actor revealed that there was “no competition whatsoever” with his Corrie co-star.
In an interview with The Sun, Anthony reasoned: “If me and Brooke were in a skate off I would be an idiot to want myself to do better than Brooke.”

He continued: “I would say I give up my place so you can go and continue. There is absolutely no competition whatsoever.”
Antony, 42, is skating with American skater Brandee Malto while Brooke, 25, is teamed with newbie professional, Matej Silecky, 23.
He added: “The pair of us are thrilled to have each other as we go through a unique experience.”

In Coronation Street, Anthony plays the role of barman Sean Tully, while Brooke plays Weatherfield resident, Sophie Webster.
While Anthony’s decision to drop out may see him exit the competition early, he may also struggle due to the fact that judge, Jason Gardiner has threatened to be “harsher” to him than any of the other contestants.
Speaking to OK! Online and other press at the launch of the ITV show, he said: “I’m going to be harder on him. Absolutely. Because of the fact that I’ve known him for 20 years. Nobody gets special dispensation from me.”

The ITV judge added: “He’s cool, he’s absolutely very cool. He said to me ‘I don’t expect any special treatment’ and I said, ‘you’re not getting any’.
“In fact, I’m going to be tougher on him and I think he knows that.
“And he’s ready for it. I mean come on, it’s Anthony Cotton he can give as good as he takes.”

Sure enough, recently, Anthony Cotton revealed that be plans to fire back at harsh comments from the judges.
Speaking on This Morning, he said: “I’ve got a couple of lines to give him if he gives it me”.
