Okay, we know it’s early days still, but is anyone else getting excited for Celebrity Big Brother‘s summer 2018 edition ? Come on, it’s not just us! As we type, Channel 5 bosses are currently working on signing up a fresh batch of famous housemates for the news series. And yes, the rumour mill has already started churning out potential names.
But when does Celebrity Big Brother summer 2018 even start? Well, here’s what we know about the new series so far. Remember to bookmark this page because we’ll be updating it regularly with every snippet of information that comes our way. Enjoy!
1. Celebrity Big Brother summer 2018: When does it start?
Last year, the summer edition kicked off on Tuesday, August 1 at 9pm (days after the current civilian Big Brother series ended on Friday, July 28).
With the show launching on Channel 5 around the same day every year, we’re expecting the new series to start on Tuesday, July 31 at 9pm.
2. Celebrity Big Brother summer 2018 line-up: Who are the housemates?
Nothing has been confirmed yet by Channel 5, but here are the names we’ve heard through the grapevine so far:
Who? A model who made headlines after being kidnapped. She also recently appeared on This Morning to discuss the conviction of her kidnapper and to offer a warning to other women in the industry.
What’s the rumour? It’s been reported that Chloe could be in the running to enter the CBB house. “Chloe has previously said that she wouldn’t do reality TV, but she is in talks to do the next series of Celebrity Big Brother,” an insider told The Sun. “The premise of the series is retribution and people who have been wronged, so she definitely fits the bill from that perspective.”
Georgia May Foote
Who? Former Coronation Street actress and Strictly Come Dancing contestant
What’s the rumour? Georgia proved to be extremely popular when she competed on Strictly. Now, reports claim that Channel 5 bosses want her to go into the Celebrity Big Brother house and work the same magic she did for the Beeb.
Who? S Club 7 star
What’s the rumour? The singer revealed earlier this year that he is completely broke following the group’s demise. Now, fans think he might considering signing up for Celebrity Big Brother for some extra cash, despite previously hinting that he isn’t a fan of the show. He told Digital Spy: “When you look at some of the people they put in, it really is extended friends of famous people. Cousins of friends.”
Barry and Paul Elliott
Who? TV’s legendary Chuckle Brothers
What’s the rumour? The iconic siblings recently told Metro that they had previously been asked about taking part by Channel 5 – however, nothing came of it. But Barry stressed that he hasn’t ruled it out in the future. He said: “I’d probably do Celebrity Big Brother.” Paul then added: “You never know, maybe one day we’ll give it a go.”
Who? Reality star and daughter of late comedian Les Dawson
What’s the rumour? Channel 5 bosses are reportedly in talks with Charlotte following the popularity of her Ex on the Beach co-star Jess Impiazzi last series. “We know it’s what the audience want to see more of,” an insider told the Daily Star. Charlotte’s just signed with the same management as Jess, and the insider suggested that she “stands in pretty good stead” to enter the house.
Who? Former Strictly Come Dancing pro
What’s the rumour? Brendan announced in January that he had been axed from Strictly as BBC bosses decided not to renew his contract. So what will his next career move be? It’s been reported that the ballroom guru is being considered for the new series of Celebrity Big Brother.
If he does decide to sign up, Brendan will be following in the footsteps of his former co-star James Jordan, who has competed on the show twice before.
Who? 1980s singer, Simon Cowell’s ex and BFF
What’s the rumour? We’re actually surprised that Sinitta hasn’t already done it. She told OK!magazine that she has been approached, saying: “I’ve given them my rider, but there have been complaints. I just asked for a few things that would make it nice because they’ve asked me every year and I’ve always said no. But if these things could happen, then I could do it.
“If I last more than halfway, I want my puppy to visit me. I want a swearing ban, because I don’t swear and people shouldn’t be allowed to swear at me or around me. I asked for a bodyguard who would stand with me at all times, especially when I’m asleep. If they provide alcohol then I want tequila because it’s all I drink. Quite reasonable, really.
“The producer said it’s the most ridiculous rider they’d ever had. It has gone a bit quiet, I must admit. But if you don’t ask, you don’t get!”

Who? The Only Way is Essex star
What’s the rumour? Bobby may end up following his co-star and BFF Gemma Collins into the house after previously confirming to The Sun that he had a “meeting” with show bosses.
He said: “I’ve watched it literally since series one day one, and I’m on BOTS most series to be fair and I think I’d quite fancy the challenge of doing it, because I’m such a fan of the show.”
Bobby has indeed made regular appearances as a panellist on BOTS with host Rylan Clark-Neal, but has said in the past that he is reluctant to go in because he is such a Big Brother nerd.

The queen of Big Brother Emma Willis will undoubtedly once again host the launch show, and will present all the live evictions as well as the grand finale.
Meanwhile, her number one fan Rylan Clark-Neal is expected to return to the Channel 5 studios to host Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit on the Side. As usual, he will almost certainly be joined by a celebrity panel each week to discuss the goings-on in the house.
Celebs Go Dating star Tom Read Wilson is also believed to be returning to CBBBOTS as a regular host too.
4. And what about the Eye?
It’s still very early days, so the summer 2018 eye has not yet been revealed just yet.
Until Channel 5 bosses do decide to unveil the new logo, here’s a reminder of what last series’ eye look like:
5. Celebrity Big Brother 2018: Will this be the last ever series?
Possibly. This year marks the end of Celebrity Big Brother‘s contract with Channel 5. If TV bosses choose not to renew it, this could very well be the end of the road for CBB.
Commenting on the show’s future, Channel 5’s current boss Ben Frow said: “We’re going to have a discussion about it. I need to know, like I would with any commission, ‘What are the plans for the future? How will it be creatively renewed? How is it still important to me?’
“It’s a very established brand, a very successful brand but there’s a big shiny new show on the block called Love Island. We need to take a good long look at Big Brother and go, ‘What does it look like for the future?'”
