Coronation Street viewers fear for Johnny as he takes his grief out on Jenny

Warning: This article contains discussion of suicide, which some readers may find upsetting.

Tonight’s (May 16) Coronation Street continued to focus on the aftermath of Aidan Connor’s shocking death, as his family tried to deal with their grief in different ways.

Carla was throwing herself back into work at the factory, but had a nasty shock when she discovered that Aidan had left everything to Alya in his will.

Meanwhile, Aidan’s father Johnny was desperately struggling to cope with his son’s death, especially after discovering a letter Aidan had written to him months ago but never sent, which showed he had been planning to take his own life.

Viewers’ hearts were breaking for Johnny, as he blamed himself for his son’s death.

Jenny had been trying to be there for Johnny, but he kept pushing her away.

But the breaking point for Johnny came when he heard about Summer’s well-meaning campaign to set up a helpline for men in Aidan’s memory.

Taking his anger out on Jenny, he hurled a glass at the wall.

While viewers can sympathise with Johnny, the scenes with Jenny proved a difficult watch.

Jenny too has lost a son, but sadly it seems Johnny is unwilling to let her help him cope.
