Emily Blunt is totally up for a The Devil Wears Prada sequel.
The actress played her namesake Emily Charlton in the 2006 film alongside Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep and her brother-in-law Stanley Tucci, with the movie becoming an instant classic.
Indeed, demands for a sequel have been bubbling for years, and now there’s a little more reason to think it might happen.
The Devil Wears Prada author Lauren Weisberger has written a sequel to her original bestseller, titled When Life Gives You Lululemons and out later this year, and it centres around Blunt’s character.
Add to that the fact that Blunt is on board with the idea of getting the impeccably dressed band back together, and you have the start of proper Devil Wears Prada 2 fan campaign.
“I mean if everyone wanted to do it, it would be cool,” Emily told Entertainment Tonight. “I’d be down.” So there you go.
Even if this very exciting potential project never comes to fruition, we won’t be too sad as a The Devil Wears Prada musical is coming.
Shepherded by Elton John, the musical version of The Devil Wears Prada will combine key elements from Lauren Weisberger’s novel and the film that earned Meryl Streep an Oscar nomination.
“Re-imagining The Devil Wears Prada for the musical theatre is super exciting,” Elton said previously.
“I’m a huge fan of both the book and the feature film, and a huge aficionado of the fashion world. I can’t wait to sink my musical teeth into this hunk of popular culture.”
Damn. We still want BOTH.
