Former Coronation Street star Catherine Tyldesley reveals her 12-week body transformation

Catherine Tyldesley may no longer be prowling Coronation Street as Eva the Diva, but that doesn’t mean the former Corrie star isn’t keeping busy.

Far from it in fact, as the actress has recently shared the story of her fitness “journey” on Instagram with fans, giving them an inspiring message of strength and self-love to boot.

Just a couple of months after teasing the results of a 12-week body transformation with her followers, Catherine revealed the full extent of her latest “challenge”, calling it “one of the most incredible experiences of my life”.

Thanking her personal trainer for the programme, Cath called the experience “priceless”, while also admitting there were days she wanted to “throw in the towel”.

I want to share my little story – It’s been such a journey! This year I decided to challenge myself (I love to set goals) and do a ‘12 week Transformation’ with @up_north_pt … it has been one of the most incredible experiences of my life. The knowledge I have gained for myself and my family is priceless. Yes it was hard, yes I had days when I wanted to throw in the towel… but I didn’t – and for that I am super proud of myself. Being a working mum is not easy – it’s incredibly difficult at times – balance doesn’t exist. You just manage best you can. #UP have given me the skills to maximise gym and kitchen time to fit my busy schedule. I’m eating beautiful food – I’m stronger than Ive ever been and my energy levels are so much better- in turn so are my hormones! Forever grateful to this place and to @heynickmitchell @zusun83 @elliottupton @arooshanekonam and ofcourse the man behind my new toned ass #EvilSteve . Steve has helped me be the best I can be for me and my family – physically and mentally. I’m ready to take on the world!! Thanks guys!!! 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻❤️❤️❤️ #health #fitness #bodytransformation #henchmomma #goals @upfitnesslive @upfitnesswomen will post link on stories xxx

“The knowledge I have gained for myself and my family is priceless. Yes it was hard, yes I had days when I wanted to throw in the towel… but I didn’t – and for that I am super proud of myself.”

She continued: “Being a working mum is not easy – it’s incredibly difficult at times – balance doesn’t exist. You just manage best you can.”

As well as revealing her new-found strength and energy – and “toned ass” – Catherine thanked her trainer for helping her get back to her best “physically and mentally.”

“I’m ready to take on the world!!” she added.

Catherine’s fans needn’t worry she’ll be spending all her time in the gym, though, as she recently confirmed that she’s looking to return to acting in the near future.

Opening up about how her life has changed since leaving Corrie earlier this year, Catherine conceded that things were “very different” – “there’s a lot of self-taping now where you video your audition on your phone in the comfort of your own home”, she said.

“The other week I was recording an audition for a period drama and I came downstairs in a wig, a corset and my pyjama bottoms, because you’re only filming from the waist up.”

Coronation Street airs on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 7.30pm and 8.30pm on ITV.
