Love Island’s reigning champ Kem Cetinay apologises for on screen romps on show

As anticipation builds for the new series of Love Island , last year’s winner Kem Cetinay has dished out some words of advice for the singletons heading into the villa.

During his time on the show, viewers saw Kem hook up with girlfriend Amber Davies multiple times on camera.

The loved-up pair couldn’t keep their hands off each other – but split just five months later.

Now Kem, 22, has issued an apology to his mum for his raunchy displays.

Speaking to The Sun, Kem said at the time he ‘didn’t really think’ about their late night romps being screened to millions of viewers at home.

But he added: "OK, there was there was one day where it was during the day… I apologise. Sorry, Mum."

The reality star also revealed the real reason he split with Amber Davies last year.

"It was me who called it a day. I couldn’t carry on going on the way we were. We were arguing over silly things and it just didn’t feel right," he admitted.

"We slowly realised we were different in some ways and started to clash more. I think we grew apart a bit."

After winning over the public, Kem and Amber were crowned the eventual winners of the 2017 series of the hit show, beating rivals Olivia Attwood and Chris Hughes into second place.

During the final, Kem had the option of keeping the £50k prize fund to himself but opted to share the cash with girlfriend Amber Davoes.

Speaking after the show, the pair hinted they could see themselves getting married one day – but sadly split just five months later.

Love Island starts Monday 4th June at 9pm on ITV2
