The good news for fans of The Office is that both John Krasinski and Jenna Fischer both want their characters Jim and Pam to feature in the revival. But nobody’s actually invited them yet.
NBC is currently developing a new version of the American remake of The Office with series creator Greg Daniels, featuring both returning and brand new characters working at Dunder Mifflin.
There’s no word yet on which cast will be involved, but Jenna Fischer has already said she’s keen for this revival to bring back married couple Jim and Pam.
In an interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show on Monday (February 12), her co-star John Krasinski revealed that he’s also keen to reunite with his Office co-stars.
“Oh my god, are you kidding? I’d love to get that gang back together,” he told Ellen.
There’s only one problem: Nobody from NBC has actually reached out to John Krasinski about returning.
“Guess who didn’t get a call? Me,” he admitted. “What does that say? NBC’s like, ‘You know who we didn’t like? Jim.'”
When Ellen tried assuring John that NBC “wouldn’t do it without” him, he quipped: “Well, it looks like they are. I haven’t gotten a call yet.
“I was just looking for a phone. Imagine if they were like, ‘Will you?’ And I’m like, ‘Let’s suit up.'”
One familiar face that fans should not expect to see (besides John Krasinski, apparently) is Steve Carell, who memorably left The Office ahead of its final two seasons.
The Office originally aired on NBC in the US from 2005 to 2013.
