Pete Wicks hinted when the new series of TOWIE would be back while on This Morning [ITV]
Pete Wicks has addressed The Only Way Is Essex shake up, which saw several cast members axed for being ‘too boring’.
The TOWIE star – who famously dated Megan McKenna – was appearing on ITV show, This Morning, with his dog Eric, to talk about his new book, For the Love of Frenchies, offering advice to viewers on how to raise a pup.
However, Phillip Schofield and Holly Willoughby couldn’t help but quiz the Essex hunk on the new series, commenting on the fact that so many cast members had recently been axed.

Holly said: “We should say, you’re series 22 of TOWIE now, and you’re back.
“But not many people made it back, did they?”
“No there was a bit of a cull wasn’t there?”, Pete responded. “But I made it back…and Eric’s made it.”

Hinting that the series would be returning soon, the TOWIE star added that he starts filming next month, meaning fans won’t have long to wait to see the latest goings on from their favourite stars in Essex.
While Pete confirmed he is set to appear back on our screens, is believed that Chris Clark, Amber Dowding, Mike Hassini and Mario Falcone are just some of the names that have been ‘booted’ from the hit ITVBe show.
Plus, newcomers Jack Rigden, Jordan Brook, Maddie Hooper and Ruby Lacey will also reportedly not been returning.

After the shocking news was announced, a TV source told The Sun: “TOWIE is like a revolving door and producers are always on the lookout for new faces that can keep the show fresh.
“Chris and Amber have left the series as a couple who’ve just moved into an apartment together – and often being in a happy relationship doesn’t work for the show.
“Mike is also loved-up with a girlfriend off camera and has no real storylines to bring to the show but will continue to focus on his fitness and personal training.

“Producers thought Jack and Jordan were really funny and had great potential but they were lost against the bigger characters and unfortunately didn’t make the final cut.
“Maddie and Ruby only appeared in a few episodes last series and failed to resonate with viewers.”
Plus, shaking things up further, the show recently revealed that this year there will be something different going on with the episode format – with just one episode per week.

TOWIE, which stars the likes of Gemma Collins, Georgia Kousoulou, Pete Wicks and James ‘Arg’ Argent, usually airs on ITVBe twice a week with episodes around 50-minutes long.
Now it’s been revealed that instead of airing on a Sunday and a Wednesday, there will only be one episode a week.
These episodes will be an hour-long each, but fans will have to wait weekly to see the latest goings on instead of the usual 3 or 4 day gap.
