Princes William and Harry Will Play Stormtroopers in 'The Last Jedi,' So the Rest of 2017 Can Just Go Home

As if we weren’t already anticipating Star Wars: The Last Jedi enough, it turns out our cherished brothers of the British Isles will play stormtroopers in a scene with John Boyega (a.k.a Finn), Tom Hardy (a.k.a the man of our dreams), and Gary Barlow. (Okay, in all honesty, I didn’t know who this was until I Googled him, but he’s apparently a British singer.) This is seriously what crossover fan fiction dreams are made of…

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the scene shows the stormtroopers guarding Finn in an elevator. This undoubtedly sounds like the making of the best elevator showdown since the Solange and Jay-Z incident in 2014.

William and Harry toured Pinewood Studios back in April, causing speculation that the princes might cameo a la Daniel Craig  in The Force Awakens

Boyega confirmed that William and Harry were on set when he appeared on BBC Radio 4’s “Today” program.

“I’ve had enough with those Prince William secrets, man,” said Boyega. “They came on set; they were there, man. Tom Hardy was there, too – I said it. I’m sick of hiding this.”

Well, I guess people weren’t sick of asking because Boyega again confirmed their cameos while taping The Hollywood Reporter’s Actor Roundtable recently. He said that seeing Hardy and the princes “wrapped in Stormtroopers costumes” was a “strange contrast of a weird family.” He then joked, “It’s the best of both worlds for me.”

We couldn’t agree more, John, we couldn’t agree more.
