Rick and Morty has released a tribute episode called ‘Bushworld Adventures’, a re-imagining of the show from YouTube series Darren and Damo’s creator Michael Cusack.
The 11-minute episode features Rick and Morty as Australians. It sees Rick force Morty into joining him on an eight-hour road trip to Bendigo to get a “green cube”.
You can watch ‘Bushworld Adventures’ on the Adult Swim website, and check out a deleted scene, shared by Cusack, below:
Following the excellent Rick and Morty-themed Run the Jewels video, it came to light that season four of Adult Swim’s cult comedy still hasn’t been greenlit.
After one fan vented at Rick and Morty co-creator Dan Harmon – telling him he should “quit wasting time” and finish the next season of Adult Swim’s cult comedy – he got the following response:
“I hear ya, tough spot. On one hand, it can be challenging, especially with crippling lazy alcoholism, to write a show that hasn’t been ordered by a network.
“On the other hand, the thought that fans like you pay the price…I mean…I’m gonna grab a drink,” Harmon replied.
Earlier this year, writer and producer Ryan Ridley also said: “I know how long this show takes to write, let alone animate. I’d be surprised if there was a fourth season on the air anytime sooner than 2019… late 2019.”
Rick and Morty (hopefully) returns to Adult Swim in the US and Netflix in the UK at some point in the future.
