Tributes from those who have worked with Sir Bruce, and those touched by his glittering career, have been flooding in since the sad news was shared.
In a change to the schedule, BBC One took The One Show and A Question Of Sport off air and replaced the show with a tribute to the late presenter titled Sir Bruce Forsyth: Mr Entertainment and fans were incredibly emotional.
Taking to social media, one wrote: “I’ve got my tissue ready and watching #SirBruceForsyth #Mr Entertainment @BBCOne. God bless him.”

While another sobbed: “Just 5 minutes into this Bruce Forsyth tribute on BBC One, and it is already incredible. So many brilliant historical anecdotes.”
“They’re playing a Bruce Forsyth tribute on BBC one right now and I’m balling my eyes out.. No one will ever be able to do what Bruce did,” cried somebody else watching at home.
However, some viewers weren’t so sure what to think of the tribute airing so soon over the legend’s passing.
A user mused: “Bit strange watching a Bruce Forsyth tribute that was made before he died with people talking about him in the past tense.”

“Uncomfortable that BBC are showing a tribute to Bruce Forsyth a few hours after his death. People talking about him in past tense @BBC,” commented a different user.
As well as clips and stills, talking heads including Arlene Phillips, Len Goodman and Anton Du Beke spoke fondly of their good friend.
A tweet, which was shared on The One Show’s official Twitter page, read: “There will be no One Show this evening as @BBCOne will now be airing a special programme in memory of Bruce Forsyth.”
The show later tweeted to say that an hour long show on Monday will be dedicated to stories and memories of meeting the late great.
