We’ll be seeing more of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man sooner than originally planned.
Sony Pictures has brought forward Spider-Man: Homecoming‘s UK release date, moving it from Friday, July 7 to Wednesday, July 5, 2017. As for our stateside cousins, it looks like they will still have to hold on until July 7, we’re afraid.
Directed by Jon Watts, Spider-Man: Homecoming will be our first chance to see what Holland’s Peter Parker is made of away from the Avengers, having debuted with a scene-stealing cameo in Captain America: Civil War.
Holland will later reteam with the Avengers in Infinity War and its sequel, before starring in the planned Spider-Man: Homecoming sequel – and he’s recently said he intends to play the webslinger for years to come and has planned it all out.
“Peter Parker is a character we see [in the comic books] as a 15-year-old boy and then as a 35-year-old man,” he explained.
“So I have an idea of what I’d like to do, and I’ve pitched it and it’s already been taken into the boardroom. It would be really cool if it pans out, because it means I would be Spider-Man for a very long time.”
The latest teaser trailer for Spider-Man: Homecoming landed earlier this month, in which we see Zendaya’s Michelle quiz Tom Holland’s Peter Parker about what he might be hiding – check it out below:
