Gemma Atkinson was the fourth celebrity to be revealed as part of the 2017 Strictly Come Dancing line-up, with the news being confirmed on Thursday’s BBC Breakfast.
The former Emmerdale actress will now join The Saturdays star Mollie King, EastEnders actor Davood Ghadami and This Morning presenter Ruth Langsford in competing for the glitterball this autumn.
Strictly Come Dancing 2017 is set to launch in September, while a start date for the BBC series has yet to be confirmed.

Gemma Atkinson, 32, is a well-known soap actress, fitness icon and former glamour model.
The star is best known for playing Carly Hope in Emmerdale until her character left the award-winning soap and Marlon Dingle in early June after two-years to start a new life with her former flame Matt.

While soap fans will also recognise Gemma from Hollyoaks where she played Lisa Hunter for four years in 2001 to 2005 as well as BBC’s Casualty.
Gemma also co-hosts Key 103’s Breakfast Show with Matt and Mike.
However, the model is no stranger to reality shows and in the past has even appeared on I’m A Celebrity.

While in a statement posted on the official Strictly website, the 32-year-old said: “I am honoured to be asked and so thrilled to be joining Strictly Come Dancing 2017! I’m beyond excited and incredibly nervous.
“But I am looking forward to learning a new skill in Ballroom and Latin dancing and taking on this new challenge.”

The full line-up tends to be announced over August, with the cast then meeting for photos and interviews in this time ahead of the launch.
Strictly will be back on BBC One very soon, and last year the series kicked off on Saturday 3rd September.
