However, the BBC show might have to battle it out with The X Factor in order to bag Cheryl, as it is rumoured that Simon Cowell also wants the singer back as a judge next year.
“Nothing’s a done deal and I do like this panel, But the good news is that now more people want to do the show than before,” Simon said.
“”Is Cheryl keen to come back? She is, yes — I guess she is. I think I’ll go into the New Year and then see how everyone feels.”

Should Cheryl choose to take part in Strictly instead of The X Factor, there’s no guarantee that Shirley would still be on the judging panel.
Speaking about the head judge’s return, a show insider told The Sun: “At this stage no one knows if she is coming back.
“She hasn’t ruled it out, if asked, but she is still waiting”.
In her chat with Radio Times, Shirley teased: “If I did [return]…it would be Shirley keep your mouth shut!”
