Zoe Ball has confirmed her Strictly Come Dancing return, but don’t go expecting her to tell you who’s on this year’s series.
Earlier this month, Zoe’s new weekend ITV talk show Zoe Ball on Saturday and Zoe Ball on Sunday launched and proved a hit with viewers, yet the announcement of a show on a rival network had fans fearing she wouldn’t be back on Strictly.
She was always likely to return to Strictly‘s companion show It Takes Two, but it’s still nice to have her speak about this year’s series on today’s (April 19) This Morning.
Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield tried to get her to spill some secrets on the celebrities taking part, but Zoe joked that there was one reason she doesn’t know: “They never tell me anything, because I have a big mouth. You just have to wait and see.”
She also praised This Morning‘s support of the powerful Project 84 campaign that highlighted male suicide rates.
“It was so moving and so powerful. And I think anything like that that raises awareness or makes us stop for a moment and makes us think… that is what we need to keep going,” Zoe explained.
Last month saw Zoe moved to tears on Sport Relief after it was revealed that her Hardest Road Home challenge, in memory of her late boyfriend Billy Yates, raised more than £1 million.
Her new hour-long ITV talk show was commissioned for 46 episodes and if it runs straight through, that means it will end in mid-September, just in time for Zoe to host her weekday Strictly treat on BBC Two.
Zoe Ball on Saturday and Zoe Ball on Sunday continues this weekend at 8.30am on ITV.
