Charlie Gard’s dad slams Loose Women’s Rebekah Vardy for saying there was ’nothing they could do’ for tragic tot

THE dad of tragic cancer tot Charlie Gard has slammed Rebekah Vardy over comments she made on Loose Women.

Chris Gard launch into a furious Facebook rant after Rebekah, 35, told viewers "there was nothing" his parents could have done to save the tragic lad.

The I'm a Celebrity star was discussing Alfie Evans, the poor 21-month-old boy who is fighting for life in a coma and has been compared to Charlie Gard.

She admitted to co-hosts "I've got no medical experience whatsoever".

But she corrected her fellow panelists when Alfie was likened to Charlie, saying: "Charlie Gard was slightly different.

"With no disrespect to his family, there was really nothing like could do for him."

Her comments sparked an angry backlash from Charlie's dad.

He posted: "Someone just alerted me to Loose Women as they’d heard Charlie mentioned.

"Well let me tell you now Rebekah, and a lot of others out there, you are CATEGORICALLY WRONG!!"

Furious Chris added: "HOW DARE YOU MENTION MY SON WHEN YOU KNOW NOTHING!!

"I’m sick to death of hearing my sons name just thrown about and everyone thinking that we had false hope and we were fighting a lost cause and that we just couldn’t let go of our child.

"Unless you know the facts, keep your opinions to yourself. You really don’t have a clue."

Chris also posted a letter of scientific evidence advocating treatment.

He added a pic of a shrine to Charlie and paid touching tribute, saying: "Love you Charlie. Miss you so much champ and I still get prouder of you by the day x."

Charlie died a week before his first birthday, after a long fight against a rare and devastating genetic illness.

His parents were stuck in a bitter legal row with Great Ormond Street, with the some doctors claiming to have had death threats over it.

Charlie's mum Connie revealed that he had lost his battle with his illness, and had died a week before his first birthday. In a statement the pair said: "Our beautiful little boy has gone, we are so proud of you Charlie."

It was revealed that Charlie would be buried along with his two favourite cuddly monkeys, as his parents planned the tragic tot's funeral.

Medics are baffled over little Alfie's mystery condition but some experts believe he might have a mitochondrial condition – the same as Charlie.

Earlier in the show, Rebekah revealed she's having her breast implants removed after discovering that they're rippling.

She discussed her decision to go under the knife and discuss how women are judged on social media.

She told the panel: "I'm having my implants removed in my boobs. They're rippling. They want to check them and take them out and change them and make sure everything's alright.

"I think it's from breastfeeding, where they grow, and then they shrink and then they grow."

Saira Khan then quizzed if she can "feel them" at which point she joked that she could when she bent over – and would "show her later.

The star, who is married to Jamie Vardy, is the mother of four, with her youngest being son, Finley, age one.

She also shares two-year-old Sofia with Jamie, as well as having two other children Megan, 11, and six-year-old Taylor.

Rebekah shared a photograph of herself breastfeeding baby Finley on Instagram – and later said the reaction from fans was overwhelming.

“If Finley is hungry and I’m out in public, my boob is coming out. He’s not going to wait until I’m home and I don’t care if people have a problem with that,” the proud mum-of-four told OK!.

She also said the hair and make-up team she worked with on the shoot from her photo were amused by the fact her boob was “bigger than Finley’s head.”

However, Rebekah found herself on the receiving end of vile Twitter abuse when a troll told her he wished her new-born son had been stillborn.
