Last night the ex-con — whose victims included her sister — denied her fling with the dad started behind bars.
She said they “bumped” into each other again by chance.
Askham, who now calls herself Emma Wilson, said: “Our friendship blossomed.
“I’ve done nothing wrong and he’s done nothing wrong.”
The pair first met at HMP Send in Surrey after she killed her neighbour by smashing a bottle of Lambrini over his head in a boozy row.
She was serving a minimum three years for manslaughter.
Askham was released from HMP Send in 2011
It was her second conviction after a drunken row in 2003 saw her push her sister Vanessa, 28, so hard she died.
Askham got a community rehabilitation order for that killing.
When she met the warder in 2007 he ran a scheme to help inmates with mental health and other issues.
She was freed in 2011 and he left the prison service in 2013.
The couple now live together in Leeds.
Askham said: “We could get married. But he’s got his children and I’ve got my own, so we don’t plan any more. But yes, we are happy.”
