Doctors discovered there were several needles inserted into her abdomen. She also had a broken arm.
The girl – named locally as Supriya Goswami – has been operated on and doctors are now helping her cope with the trauma of her injuries.
According to the doctors, the girl’s mother said the needles had been inside her body for the past 15 to 20 days.
The girl was brought to the hospital on Saturday after she was allegedly physically abused by an elderly person who employs her mother as a domestic help.
There were seven needles found inside the child’s body.
Earlier the doctors said they couldn’t take out the object for fearing of causing further damage to her body.

A man in his 50s, who is also accused of practising black magic, has been arrested and charged with physically abusing the child.
