Dramatic video captures the moment a 14-year-old girl plummeted about 25 feet from a ride at an upstate Six Flags amusement park — and was caught by a group of guests and security workers.

The teen fell from the Sky Ride, a gondola that spans several hundred feet across Six Flags Great Escape, around 8 p.m. on Saturday, the Warren County Sheriff’s office said in a statement.

The ride’s operator brought it to a stop after receiving a radio transmission from park staff on the ground that a rider was in distress, the sheriff’s office said.

“Her neck is stuck!” people down below yelled as the teen dangled from the car she was riding in, Facebook video posted by witness Loren Lent shows. She was in the car with a child relative, the Warren County Sheriff’s Office told the Post-Star.

Suddenly, someone yelled, “They’ll catch her!” and the girl dropped from the car. A group of people immediately caught her — and cheers erupted in the crowd.

Lent, who didn’t know the teen, was waiting for his wife, daughter and two of her friends on the ride when he witnessed the horrific accident, he told ABC News 10. He said the girl was hanging from the chair by just her arms and head before she plummeted — and that the bar on the chair was apparently choking her.

“You don’t know what to do,” he told the station. “I mean you know you understand that…somebody falling from [25] feet in the air could cause damage to you or whoever you’re catching her with but it’s better off to suffer a minor injury to save someone from a serious injury, and that’s what those guys ultimately did.”

The teen was treated by emergency medical personnel on scene and rushed to Glens Falls Hospital — and was later taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center, the sheriff’s office said.

The girl, from Greenwood, Delaware, was reported to be in stable condition, with no serious injuries reported.

A 47-year-old man from Schenectady, who helped to catch the teen, was treated at Glens Falls Hospital for a back injury, according to the sheriff’s office.

Sheriff’s investigators and park personnel inspected the ride and the car the girl was riding in and determined that everything was in proper working order — and all safety equipment was intact and operational.

“Saturday evening a guest fell from a chair on the sky ride,” theme park spokeswoman Rebecca Wood said in an email. “She was caught by a group of guests and security personnel. She was transported to an area hospital and we are in the process of gathering more information. The safety and security of our guests is our top priority and our thoughts and prayers are with our guest and her family.”

Wood said that the ride was cleared for operation Sunday — but “out of an abundance of caution, the ride will remain closed while we conduct a thorough internal review.”
