A husband and wife who died together in the Texas church shooting were laid to rest together Saturday.
White hearses carrying the bodies of Theresa Rodriguez, 66, and her husband, Richard, 64, led a procession of dozens of cars to a cemetery in the tiny community of Sutherland Springs.
The procession took a circuitous route to keep from driving by the First Baptist Church, scene of the Nov. 5 massacre that took the lives of more than two dozen people.
The church will be demolished, it has been announced.
The funeral service, at another local church, was private. The two had been married for about 10 years and both recently retired.
Also Saturday, a Veterans Day memorial was held in the local community center honoring the many victims who had family connections to the Air Force.
