Senior policeman who drunk ten pints of lager and attacked a taxi driver quits job after 24-year career

A SENIOR cop’s 24-year career ended after he sank ten pints of lager and attacked a cabbie.

Supt Robert Kirman, 47, did not recognise the route Sardesh Hassan was using to take him home from a rock gig.

In “15 minutes of shameful, drunken and aggressive behaviour,” he accused the 41-year-old of kidnap. threatened him and tried to drag him out of his seat.

Yesterday Flintshire JPs ordered Kirman, of Wrexham, to pay £1,384 after admitting assault, a public order offence and criminal damage.

He quit after 24 years’ unblemished service with North Wales Police.

His partner, Paula Vaughan-Smith, 48, was cautioned and has lost her job with the force.
