A son attacked his own mother in an angry row over the Jeremy Kyle TV show.
Thomas Picton, 33, threw punches at his mum after getting caught up in a family argument being shown on the daytime TV show.
A court heard mum Tracey Smiddy was watching the confrontational talk show featuring a mother-son explosive row.
Prosecutor Vaughan Pritchard-Jones said: "Mr Picton began shouting: ‘Go on, hit her, I would’.
"He then started shouting at his mother."
Picton swore at his mother – and threw three punches towards her but did not make contact.
He then put his head against hers before leaving.
Magistrates at Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Picton was arrested by police and later pleaded guilty to assault.
Mark Layton, defending, said Picton had lost his temper with his mother after he had loaned her money.
Mr Layton said: "He says he effectively rubbed his head against hers. It was not a head-butt.
"When arrested, he fully accepted responsibility for his actions.
"Mr Picton gives his assurance that this will not happen again."
Picton, of Milford Haven, was given a one-year conditional discharge and ordered to pay £105 in court costs and charges.
