Alec Baldwin tweets that lockdown has taught him that ‘we need less in our lives’… as he keeps a low profile after his wife Hilaria’s Spanish heritage scandal

He has been lying low in recent days following controversy over his wife Hilaria Baldwin’s invented Spanish heritage.

But Alec Baldwin returned to social media on Sunday with a philosophical anti-materialist tweet inspired by his time in lockdown.

The 62-year-old 30 Rock star said his time at home had taught him that ‘less’ was more when it came to his life.

‘The lockdown has taught me that we need less in our lives,’ he began his tweet. 

‘Less clothes, less talk, less food, less media,’ he listed off. ‘Above all, less people.’

The actor’s tone didn’t make it clear if he was touting a new zen slogan and embracing a simpler life or musing about the social media users who had dug into his wife’s background after years of false or conflicting statements.

In December, a viral Twitter thread accused the yoga teacher of misrepresenting her heritage for years.

The author pointed out that her Spanish accent appeared to disappear at times, most notably during a Today Show segment in which she seemingly forgot the world ‘cucumber.’

Others who had known her in her early years revealed that she was born and raised in Boston under the name Hillary Hayward-Thomas.

‘I went to high school with her. Genuinely lovely person, I recall, but fully a white girl from Cambridge,’ one person tweeted.

People who claimed to have gone to school with Hilaria claimed that she had never spoken with a Spanish accent during the time they knew her.

The Departed actor shares five children with Hilaria: daughter Carmen, seven, and sons Rafael, five, Leonardo, four, Romeo, two, and Eduardo, four months.

He also shares his older daughter Ireland Baldwin with his ex-wife Kim Basinger.

The 25-year-old model appeared to still be in enjoying the beautiful landscapes of Oregon in a series of relaxing nature photos posted Friday, after she relocated up north in the wake of a violent mugging in August in Los Angeles.

Ireland shared a single closeup photo of her face as she practiced her pout.

She wore a black fleece jacket featuring the logo for the camera lens company Panavision and had her dyed-blond hair messily draped over her shoulders.

‘Find peace,’ she captioned the serene nature photos.

Ireland was joined by her boyfriend, musician Corey Harper, and other friends.

The group were out at the chilly beach on the overcast day for a bonfire.
