Alexis Sanchez looked in a determined mood as he stepped up his battle to be fit for Manchester United’s suddenly crucial home clash with Tottenham on Monday.
The Chilean missed United’s miserable 3-2 defeat at Brighton at the weekend , with his manager Jose Mourinho claiming that he wasn’t sure about how bad his problem was.
"I don’t know really [the extent of Sanchez’s injury]," said the Portuguese boss after the loss. "Let’s wait for the results of the studies.
"But I don’t think it’s a big thing. I think it will be one or two weeks maximum."

That has opened up the possibility that Sanchez could be fit for Monday’s visit of Spurs to Old Trafford, where a defeat would leave the Red Devils six points adrift of the north Londoners, who would share top spot with Manchester City and Liverpool should United’s north-west rivals both win at the weekend.
And in a post on his Instagram Story, Sanchez looked determined to be available for the game.
Posting from the gym, he declared he was "training to be back soon", adding "Come on United".
Sanchez played the full 90 minutes in United’s season-opening 2-1 win over Leicester – his 19th appearance for the club he has so far scored only three goals for.
Mourinho will hope that a return to form for the Chilean will spark his team into life, amid deepening concern about his reign at the club.
Former United midfielder Paul Ince has labelled the current state of United as "a laughing stock" and "a total mess" , and Mourinho will be eyeing a win against Spurs to turn his side’s fortunes around.
